New year and New adventures

It has been a while since I posted on this site. 2013 in fact. Since then many things have changed – the biggest being the divorce. From that, I started writing at stilldaddy.net as a way to process my thoughts and the situation. That effort helped me stay focused on the things that really mattered, which was centering myself and becoming a involved father. I have seen job changes and other life changes throughout that time as well, with each shift a chance to further grow and learn. The last two years have seen me purchase a house and add another member to our family.

Change will come, it is up to us to determine how we deal with it.

I welcome the challenges, the setbacks, the heartbreaks and the rewards that 2020 will inevitably offer up. Each one will come with its own adventure, its own lessons, and new choices. I have lots of dreams, this year I am building the reality to match.

I am so grateful to each and every one of you for being there throughout the years. All the best to your family from mine this holiday seasons.

Meet Aurora

So, after many day of hiccups in the process we finally laid down our money on a 2008 Subaru Tribeca.

Now we can look to finishing up our packing and getting set for the 50 hour cross continent journey home. Looking forward to the adventure … now only a few days away!

And to all a good night

The stocking are hung by the chimney with care, the gifts are now all wrapped and set out, and the “cookies and milk” (this year eggnog and nanimo bars) are left for Santa.

The desire to believe kept Joe awake hoping to catch sight of Santa until almost midnight, but now I must turn into bed and get some sleep — cause my bet is it is going to be an early rise.

… And I feel fine!

Turns out, you can get through these apocalypses if you just know the right people…

And she doesn’t have a scratch on her!

Well, turns out the end of the world went just about exactly how I thought it would go. Hanging out way to late, drinking a little too much, and having a great time with friends.

And in case you missed it, we have started a new Mayan calendar and thus a perfect opportunity for a new beginning. Time to break-out the resolutions and start fresh. What are you planning for the next 5,125 years? Get in shape? Start a new job? Start a family? Retire?

Think on it!
